Today Hina went to training class.  We had gone to puppy school before but we want to continue the training.  Sydney City Council provides free training courses for residents  (http://www.cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au/residents/animals/petmanagement.asp) so we registered to give it a go.  The course is held in Federal Park in Annandale.  The class lasted for half an hour and was quite concentrated.  We learned sit, stay and heel.  We thought Hina had already mastered sit and down but there were so many distractions at the park that Hina found it difficult to concentrate on the commands.

But that is one of the benefits of going to this type of class – learning how to work with commands in the outside world and not just in the apartment.

Here’s Hina waiting in her crate to go to class.

Welcome to Shiba in Sydney!
This blog is dedicated to Hina – a red Shiba Inu born 22 March 2010 in Melbourne but has taken up residence in Sydney.  We may offer a few other random comments and views on a variety of topics but the intent is to focus on Hina, Shiba Inu and perhaps raising dogs (especially in the city and city fringe areas) more generally.
